Plants producing perfumes and colorants use chemicals.
This adoption example is in a production line in which chemicals used in a perfume producing process, such as hydrocarbons, alcohols, aldehydes and esters, are put in.
A silicon hose was conventionally used, emphasizing flexibility.
The silicon hose deteriorated due to the chemicals. The hose had to be frequently replaced, resulting in increased costs.
In addition, 200 or more kinds of chemicals were mixed; which chemical caused the deterioration was unclear.
Then, Hakko proposed the super flexible fluororesin spring hose [E-SJSP] with high chemical resistance.

The cost per hose is more expensive than the existing product. However, the E-SJSP was adopted due to advantages for durability and for preventing product contamination.

Plants producing alcohol disinfectant saw demand increase explosively due to preventive measures against a new strain of influenza. The plants had to run at full capacity and could not stop their production lines.
Soft polyvinylchloride hoses were conventionally used for hoses for raw alcohol, but they soon harden. Consequently, the hoses needed to be replaced but the workers were not sure what to do because the production line could not be stopped.
The soft polyvinylchloride allows a plasticizer to be eluted, causing impurities to be mixed in the alcohol, which is a commercial product. Therefore, the soft polyvinylchloride hose could not be used.
The producers searched for a hose that satisfies their requirements including high alcohol resistance and non-elution of the ingredients in the hose.
Hakko proposed the super flexible fluororesin spring hose [E-SJSP] for the producer to evaluate.
The super flexible fluororesin spring hose [E-SJSP] has a fluororesin inner surface, thus sending out very small amount of eluted substances. The hose does not harden even if alcohol flows through it.
The hose is also transparent and contains SUS 304 steel wire, helping to prevent unnecessary bending . Consequently the hose is a multi-purpose delivery and suction hose that can be used for both pumping and negative pressure. This multi-purpose use eliminates the need to use different hoses to make them appropriate according to usage.
We soon heard from the producer that they would adopt the super flexible fluororesin spring hose because the evaluation results showed performance superior to the conventional product.
The producer was very pleased, saying that the service time of the hose was lengthened, the fluid could flow sanitarily and the hose usability was improved on the shop floor.
The E-SJSP hose has high transparency, flexibility and chemical resistance.

A company that produces the photoresist developer required for liquid crystal displays and semiconductor devices had planned to review hose piping to reduce costs.
The company had used polyvinylchloride suction hose for piping tetramethylammonium hydroxide, a strong alkaline chemical, out of the storage tank with a pump.
The hose was periodically replaced because of deterioration due to the chemical. One problem was that impurities based on the eluted substance from the polyvinylchloride hose were mixed with the chemical, resulting in disposing of expensive chemicals costing two million yen per year.
The company searched for a hose that would resist sending out the eluted substance even if the chemicals stay in the hose.
The company collected fluorine-containing hoses from different hose manufacturers and implemented an elution test. The test results showed that the super flexible fluororesin spring hose [E-SJSP] from Hakko sends out the smallest amount of the eluted substances into the chemicals and has the highest chemical resistance.
As a result of reviewing the hoses for cost reduction, the need to dispose of the expensive chemical costing two million yen per year was eliminated. In addition, the company was very pleased to eliminate the disposal cost of the chemicals.

A company that produces semiconductor materials used acetone to clean LED substrates in the production process.
The company used Teflon flexible hoses and hoses comprising Teflon tube only. The hoses deteriorated due to bending stress generated by the robotic movement of the cleaning apparatus itself, resulting in replacing the hoses and fittings every two weeks.
The company searched for an acetone resistant, flexible, low dissolution and flexibility resistant safe hose.

An assembly with the eight lock S [E-ELS], exclusive-use fitting, allows connection/disconnection to be repeatedly performed in a short time. Hakko hose can securely be used without fluid leakage and without removing the hose due to Hakko hose exclusive-use fitting.
The cost is reduced compared to the Teflon flexible hose that is swaged at both ends. The durability of the hose is improved. As a result, the company representatives were pleased, saying that they had been searching for just such a hose.
